Directions for iPhones

1. To begin, go to the ‘Settings’ application on your device.
2. Select ‘Mail, Contacts, Calendars’.
3. Select ‘Add Account’.
4. On this screen there are many options (i.e. Microsoft Exchange, Google, Yahoo, etc.). Scroll down and select ‘Other’.
5. Select ‘Add Mail Account’.
6. On this page, please enter the following information:
   Name: Your First and Last Name
   Address: Your Full MIX E-mail Address. (i.e. username@mix.wvu.edu).
   Password: Your MIX Password (This is also your MyID password).
   Description: Here, you can type anything you want. This is what the account will be called on your phone. When finished, click ‘Next’.
7. Select ‘IMAP’ at the top.
8. Under ‘Incoming Mail Server’, add the following information:
   Host Name: mix.wvu.edu
   Username: Your MyID Username (this is the same as your MIX username)
   Password: Your MyID Password (this is the same as your MIX password)
9. Under ‘Outgoing Mail Server’, add the following information:
   Host Name: exsmtp.wvu.edu
   Username: Your MyID Username
   Password: Your MyID Password
10. Select ‘Next’ at the top.
11. On this last page, you will want to make sure ‘Mail’ is on and ‘Notes’ is off, and select ‘Save’.

After following these steps, you will be able to go into the ‘Mail’ application on your iPhone and view your MIX e-mail.

If you do not know what your MyID username and password are, please go to http://myid.wvu.edu to get your account activated.

Remember, if you change your MyID password at any time you will need to update it on your device.
