IMAP Mail Settings
Use the following settings to check your MIX e-mail using the IMAP-capable client of your choice. When configuring your mail client from the examples below, please substitute your own MIX user name, e-mail address, and password (PIN) where noted.
General Settings
- Connection/Account Type: IMAP
- Account Name: username@mix.wvu.edu
- Email Address: username@mix.wvu.edu (your complete MIX e-mail address)
- Reply-To: username@mix.wvu.edu
Incoming Mail Server Settings
- Server/Connection Type: IMAP
- Host Name: mix.wvu.edu
- User Name/Login: username (your MIX login user name only)
- Password: ****** (your MIX password/PIN)
Outgoing Mail Server Settings
Please use the outgoing mail (SMTP) server provided by your carrier or service provider (ISP). To determine the host name, credentials, and other settings for your providers outgoing mail server, please consult your service documentation, or contact your provider directly.
E-Mail Client Compatibility
While the settings listed above are generally standardized, some e-mail clients may organize account settings differently, or use alternate labels for each setting. Please use the information provided above in accordance with the requirements of your e-mail client of choice.
Note that the e-mail client must support IMAP to work correctly with the MIX e-mail system.
